About the Biltmore

Constructed by the heir of a massive steamboat and railroad fortune in 1889, the Biltmore estate is a stunning French Renaissance chateau located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The 250-room mansion is the largest home ever built on American soil, and the building and the grounds showcase superior craftsmanship in every detail. After being occupied by the family for little more than a generation, the Biltmore and its grounds were opened to the public as a museum and park. Today over 1 million guests tour the Biltmore each year, and the estate remains one of the most prominent and beloved examples of 19th century Gilded Age architecture in America.

About the Biltmore For Your Home Collection

Many visitors to the Biltmore leave with a desire to incorporate a bit of the grandeur of the estate into their own homes. With their Biltmore For Your Home Collection, Amarr Garage Doors provides a way for homeowners to do this. The garage doors in the collection feature the same look of meticulous detailing and custom craftsmanship typical of the Biltmore estate, and, as a Amarr representative puts it, are also “distinctive, inviting to visitors, and built to last” just like the Biltmore house.

There are six different designs in Amarr’s Biltmore For Your Home Collection. Each distinctive door is based on an actual door from the Biltmore Estate. For example, the most popular door in the collection, the RH Hunt, is based on a door in the courtyard of the Cottage on Biltmore Estate.

All of the doors in the collection feature faux-carriage door construction, which enables them to give the look of a traditional swing-open carriage style door with the convenience of a modern roll-up design. The doors are made from quality woods and come in four standard colors, though they can be stained or painted any color aftermarket to match your particular style.
